This fall, Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet redefines time for women-inspired by the design aesthetics of the 17th-century single-hand watch (only showing hours), the new millennial series Philosophique frosted gold watch will interpret time from a philosophical perspective.
The new millennial Philosophique frosted gold watch highlights the creative vitality and expresses the eclectic freedom of the wearer. This watch is designed to challenge the haste of today’s world, stop the time for women, and subvert the traditional convention of measuring time with a single hand (only the hour). The millennium Philosophique watch is equipped with a newly developed Calibre 3140 self-winding self-produced movement. The patented mechanism of the new movement allows the hour hand to show an elliptical movement on the dial. The hour gear is linked with the small transparent disc in the center of the dial, while the hour hand is fixed on the small disc and can move in an oval shape according to the shape of the case.
Since its launch in 1995, the Millennium collection has become a model of Audemars Piguet’s modern aesthetics with its oval case, eccentric dial and front-view manual winding movement. The millennial watch draws inspiration from the fields of architecture and art, combines superb craftsmanship and innovative design, and provides women with personalized choices by designing novel, rich materials and diverse retouching techniques. In 2019, Audemars Piguet launches the new millennium series aventurine dial frosted gold watch, dark blue aventurine dial and small seconds sub-dial reminiscent of the starry night sky. The side of the case, bezel, inner bezel and lugs are decorated with frosted gold. The hand-crafted and polished 18K white gold Polish-woven strap is as comfortable as the second skin, adding a touch of retro flavor. .
