Iwc Launches Portuguese Perpetual Calendar Digital Date Month Watch “2016 Zurich Lawrence Charity Night” Special Edition

On November 19, 2016, the tenth ‘Lawrence Charity Night’ was held in Dubendorf near Zurich. More than 600 VIP guests attended the party to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the Swiss Lawrence Foundation. IWC launched a special edition of the Portuguese Perpetual Calendar Digital Date and Month ‘2016 Zurich Lawrence Charity Night’ (model: Ref. IW397205) for auction and donated to Lawrence charity.

   All guests have the opportunity to bid on this unique timepiece provided by IWC. The watch is made of platinum and has a diameter of 45 mm. It has a blue dial with special lettering on the bottom. This powerful chronograph not only allows accurate time measurement to the second, but also has a perpetual calendar function, which can independently identify the length of different months and the leap year every four years. The complex mechanism can be easily set through the crown, and no adjustment is required until 2100. The date and month information is displayed in large two-digit numbers.

Equipped with a highly efficient double pawl automatic mechanism, it can be wound automatically when worn on the wrist. The 18K red gold oscillating weight can convert the wearer’s kinetic energy into the tension of the mainspring, with a full-string power reserve of 68 hours. This watch comes with a Santoni black alligator strap.
   In 2007, IWC collaborated with Swiss Mercedes-Benz to create the Swiss Lawrence Foundation. Lawrence values ​​the power of sports to help disadvantaged children and adolescents better integrate into society. More than 10,000 teenagers participate in various sports offered by the project, such as Lawrence Athletic Girls and Lawrence Street Football. The foundation raises most of the funds needed to carry out the project through the annual ‘Lawrence Charity Night’ and last year’s party raised a total of 1.1 million Swiss francs.
