On September 29th, 2014, the ‘Hats and Miracles’ Asian High-end Watch Fair, the annual event of the high-end watch industry, was grandly opened at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. A brand from Germany-Lange participated in this exhibition. During the show, Lange showed a specialty version of a RICHARD LANGE TOURBILLON ‘Pour le Mérite’ tourbillon watch. The watch is made of 18K white gold. ,Details are as follows:
The RICHARD LANGE TOURBILLON “Pour le Mérite” watch exhibits extreme precision, combined with Lange’s unique sesame chain transmission system and a one-minute tourbillon with a patented stop-second device. Named after Richard Lange, he is undoubtedly the most innovative figure in the Lange watchmaking dynasty. This precision wrist comes in 18K white gold with blued-steel hands and blue indexes. This special model is only available at Lange stores.
Lange presented the first watches of the new era 20 years ago, and has now launched four ‘Pour le Mérite’ precision watches. These pieces are equipped with Lange’s sesame chain transmission system specially designed for watches to ensure that the movement is driven by constant torque throughout the power reserve. In addition, the RICHARD LANGE TOURBILLON ‘Pour le Mérite’ with a one-minute tourbillon provides a stable and reliable rate.
Its stop-second device can instantly stop the balance wheel in the tourbillon frame. Just pull out the crown and the movement will stop to ensure that the time setting is not bad. After 200 years of the tourbillon, Lange engineers finally found a way to stop the tourbillon.
On the other hand, the RICHARD LANGE TOURBILLON ‘Pour le Mérite’ has an innovative patented rotating dial at 6 to 12 o’clock. This small dial fills the gap in the hour circle and allows people to watch the charming tourbillon at any time.
RICHARD LANGE TOURBILLON The chronograph dial of ‘Pour le Mérite’ has an independent time display. There is a large minute circle above, and two smaller hour and second dials. The center point of the three can form an isosceles triangle. The design of this layout was inspired by RICHARD LANGE TOURBILLON ‘Pour le Mérite’, page 2 from Dresden watchmaker Johann Heinrich Seyffert (1751–1818) (No. 93). He was one of the pioneers of Saxony’s precision watchmaking in the second half of the 18th century. Many people admire Seiffert’s timing instruments. One of them is Alexander von Humboldt, a well-known German natural scientist. He has used many times to complete expeditions with his accurate device.
This special edition of RICHARD LANGE TOURBILLON ‘Pour le Mérite’ is now available in a noble white 18K gold case. The blue steel hands and blue scale on the minute circle contrast with the silvery white bottom of the solid silver dial, making the time display clear. This watch is exclusively available at Lange stores, including New York and Moscow stores that opened in 2014.
